Bernice Liu wins 2 awards at Jade Solid Gold

Bernice Liu Bik Yi won 2 awards at Jade Solid Gold's First Season Awards night. Due to Bernice's song, "The Truth" from "Into Thin Air," she won an award for her top hit song, as well as a "New Star Award."



Allegedly, singers had to show up at the awards night in order to pick up their awards. Accordingly, singers who were unavailable and could not attend the awards night did not get any awards. As a result Eason Chan, Miriam Yeung and Gigi Leung Wing Kei were unable to attend due to their work schedules and so did not receive any awards that night.
This created an opportunity for newcomers Bernice Liu and Kary Ng to both receive 2 awards each. Their total awards were even greater than Joey Yung.



In response, Bernice said, "There's no need to say that I beat out other singers. I am still a newcomer, so you really can't compare me with other established singers." (Did being a TVB actress help Bernice attain the award?) "I don't think so. My friend said that my song, 'The Truth' is also quite popular at karaoke bars. Also the series helped promote the theme song too. That is why the song stood out." Since this is Bernice first award in her music career, she will be celebrating with her parents. Will Bernice also celebrate with rumored boyfriend Moses Chan Ho? "I haven't considered it!"

After the awards night, Bernice went out to dinner with her parents and the composer and lyricist of "The Truth." Also TVB's high executive, Chan Pui Wah, was also present. Bernice's fans gave her bottles of champagne to celebrate.
