Jay Chou Sues for False Reports

The article about Jay Chou fakes sickness to evade military service was using false information for the article, so Jay Chou decided to sue them for 1 million dollars Taiwanese money (about 250,000 US money). Also, his record company's president has expressed that there are two evidences that Jay is not evading his military service, and that before he became famous, he already has his acute back pain sickness - just that he never reported it.



Yesterday, the record company publicized two reports related to his sickness, confirming that in 1999, he did have an army check up, and because of his acute back pain, he did not have to do his military service. Therefore, they expressed that Taiwan's "蘋果日報" news printed false stories, which affects Jay's public image, and they want 1 million dollars for this.

Taiwan's army said that Jay, in August 1998 had an examination, and he was supposed to do his two years. But in November of the same year, because he wasn't feeling well, he went to the doctors to get examined again, and they found out that he had severe back pain, so they changed his status so he didn't have to do it. He only needed a very short time of military training, so in high school, he took some military training classes, and he didn't have to do military service anymore. Some people say that him evading his military service "runs in the family" because his uncle also had the same problem.

Yet his fans online still support him and provide evidence, saying that last year at a concert, Jay constantly has pain killers on him; he gave it to Will Pan who's feet were hurting; Nan Quan Ma Ma who slept over at his house once, also saw him sick - he needed to lay on his bed for at least ten minutes at once; and a nurse in a tv show, self-proclaimed that she would do an xray on Jay, justifying his actions for evading the military.

Also, yesterday Jolin Tsai was in Taiwan and expressed that she doesn't know anything about Jay's evading the military and that when she sees him at the awards show today, she'll ask him how he's doing.

Alfa Record Company insists that for now, they don't have all the evidence that Jay Chou was re-examined, and also expresses that when Jay is too tired or has too much pressure, his sickness will happen again. But because Jay is someone who doesn't like to "lose face", he hardly shows people what he looks like when he's sick. In front of his colleagues, sometimes when he walks over to them, it seems to take him five to six minutes of hurting. And as for his able-ness to play basketball and do kung-fu, Alfa clears it, saying that his severe back pain does not mean that he can't exercise, it just means that he can't exercise too hard.

The money he will receive for suing for the false report, he will donate it for public welfare use.
