KUNG FU DUNK (2008)
"Kung Fu Dunk," the high school-set martial arts action movie is set to be the biggest budget pic to emerge from Taiwan in recent years. The English-language title has apparently been changed recently from "Slam Dunk" to avoid confusion with a comic book franchise, of the same name. The cast is headlined by pop superstar Jay Chou, who made his first big screen appearance in "Curse of the Golden Flower.
The martial arts drama is about a young man who grew up in a kung fu school and was recruited by the university basketball team because of his excellent slam dunk skills. Follow him as he juggles his time between training for gruesome matches, fighting a fellow team member for the heart of the girl of his dream and trying to locate his family.
As well as Jay Chou, the movie will also reunites "Golden Flower" action director Ching Siu-tung and cinematographer Zhao Xiaoding. Working with a $10 million budget, the flick is directed by veteral helmer Kevin Chu Yin-ping. It also stars Charlene Choi, Taiwanese model Chen Bo-ling and Hong Kong's Eric Tsang. The Film is due for release around Chinese New Year, in Feb 2008.

Jay Chou and Charlene Choi attended the promotional event for their new movie and while standing next to the energetic and talkative Charlene, Jay seemed to be very shy. Only after some pleading from the press, did Jay finally put his arms on Charlene's shoulder and pose for photos.
Jay Chou, Charlene Choi, Berlin Chen and Eric Tsang were in Taiwan to promote their new movie 'Kung Fu Dunk' (灌籃), which attracted hundreds of reporters. From one in the afternoon, the 4 actress/actors accepted interviews from the media for 5 hours straight. Charlene and Eric then had to fly back to Hong Kong after the function.
Despite no previous planning, Charlene, Jay and Berlin all happened to wear grey clothing and as for Jay, he continued to be extremely shy. At first, he was only willing to stand next to Charlene when posing for photos, it was only when the reporters asked repeatedly did Jay finally put his hands on Charlene's shoulders.
When asked to talk about working with Jay, Charlene replied, "Jay's basketball skills are good, he also gave me some secret tips." On the other hand, the original name for this movie had been 'Slam Dunk' but because basketball is also mixed with some martial arts in the movie, the name was changed to 'Kung Fu Dunk'.

very funny and weird to see them near together in a pic. (since i never saw them taken pic together before) lol
it seems weird wen they r near each other since charlene always smiles a lot w/ a BIG smile.
