Welcome everyone! Come on sign in and introduce yourselves.
I'll start first
I was born and raise in New York so chinese is not my native tongue. The chinese I know comes from speaking with my parents who were from Hong Kong and Shanghai. I've been listening to chinese music since way back in the 80s. I'm old but not that old :D . Unfortunately I never learned to read chinese, so I was never able to sing chinese songs. Now with these lyrics, I can go karaoking and be able to sing to all the great songs. I'm sure many of you have similar situations.
Hope all of you like the site and continue to come back as we will be constantly adding lyircs.
Help us spread the word. Shout it out to all your friends! Thanks! :P

I was born in Australia, and grew up speaking English at home, even though my family is Chinese. I didn't really start learning Chinese until upper primary (elementary) school, and I learnt it with other non-native speakers. It took me about 5 years of study before I could pronounce Mandarin tones correctly (and even now I make mistakes) - and I only studied Mandarin for about 7~8 years. Somehow I did manage to learn to read and write fairly well (books are always there for you, whereas people get impatient after you've struggled to say once sentence).
In senior high school, I was introduced to Sun Yan Zi's and A-Mei (Zhang Hui Mei)'s music, and I was hooked. From that point onwards, I hardly ever listened to western music. I found that listening to Mandopop was a really good way to learn Chinese, especially listening to one song over and over again, memorising the lyrics, and writing the lyrics out by memory!
Late last year, I started going out with a Chinese guy from Malaysia, and thus my desire to learn Cantonese (my family's native tongue) was rekindled. A HK friend was kind enough to teach me a couple of Cantonese songs, and got me hooked on Joey Yung's music! Having impressed friends with some Mandarin karaoke, my next aim is to sing Cantonese karaoke (with my bf in the audience)! :P |

Hi, I'm new, so I'm going to introduce myself.
Name: Casandra Wong
Age: 15
Birthday: 21 december 1989
Lives in: The Netherlands
Other info:
My parents are Taiwanese, they are born in Taiwan. I am born in The Netherlands. My parents have taught me cantonese when I was young... But then they wanted me to learn mandarin too... so now they speak alot of mandarin to me, which is not really smart because I'm forgetting my cantonese, but I can still understand it good though.
I can speak mandarin and cantonese.. =) I went to chinese school for about 2 years basic. So I only know a few words... thats why I was searching for pinyin lyrics so I can learn some chinese by myself. And it was hard to find a site, so I'm really really happy I found this one.
Keep up the good work [thumbs up]~![/b] _________________ -> FutureGirlie *//. |

Hi everyone :)
First of all I have to say this site is great! I stumbled across this site when looking for F.I.R. lyrics.
I'm BBC from England, an 18 yr old male who is trying to learn and improve my Chinese reading, writing and talking esp. cantonese through music, newspapers, tv etc because I have forgotten alot of it due to under usage :oops: I'm also trying to learn Mandarin too and these lyrics with Pinyin is really helpful
