ATV's Newest Series: No Turning Back

Cast: Patrick Tam, Deannie Yip Tak Han, Amy Kwok, Law Ka Ying, Tsang Kong, Hawick Lau, Gabriel Harrison, Patricia Liu, Lulu Ng, etc.

ATV will be broadcasting its grand production, "No Turning Back" on November 20th. The series started filming in May and after 5 months of filming and editing, the series is ready to greet audiences!

Plot Synopsis:

"No Turning Back" focuses on how modern society is pulled by the promise of fortune. As a result, family love, friendship, romantic love, and justice are all tested against human greed and weakness. In the series, two main characters Chin Chi Kong (played by Patrick Tam) and Chan Fai Wong (Hawick Lau) are good friends, but their relationship turns sour due to conflict of interests. Each will have to face the grave consequences of the decisions they make in life.

If there is justice in the world, how come murderers can escape the judicial system? If there is morality and fairness, how come innocent people are implicated?

Patrick's character was raised by Deannie Yip, who sold congee for a living. When Patrick was a child, his father was given a life-sentence in prison. Patrick believed in his father's innocence, so he vowed to study law and become a lawyer in order to clear his father's name one day.

Deannie has an illegitimate son, played by Hawick Lau, who is also a lawyer. Although Hawick and Patrick grew up together and are good friends, their natures are at opposite extremes. Patrick has a kind-hearted nature, while Hawick has a vicious side.

Hawick is willing to betray his friendship [with Patrick] in order to climb the rungs in society. Hawick even causes Patrick's imprisonment and the eventual death of Patrick's father!

Patrick's character must re-evaluate his values in life. Should he remain passive and become a victim in life? Or should he respond with "an eye for an eye?" If one can drop a murderous weapon and then become buddha, does that mean responding a killing with another killing should be life's mantra?

When the legal system can not provide a fair outcome, then the business world becomes another battle ground. Patrick has no regrets but to make Hawick suffer payback. The tactics which Patrick employs will also draw him into the boundaries of evil, costing him many sacrifices.

In a chaotic and confusing society, justice may be beyond reach sometimes and one has to actively pursue it through one's own means.

Looks good...

NO TURNING BACK

Starring Amy Kwok, Kenneth Tsang, Patricia Liu Cheuk Kei, Patrick Tam Yiu Man

Amy Kwok Ho Ming, Patricia Liu Cheuk Kei and Patrick Tam Yiu Man were filming in Clear Water Bay for ATV's new series 《義無反顧》"No Turning Back." In the series, Amy plays a legal assistant, while Patrick plays a lawyer.

The scene spoke of Patricia scolding Amy, resulting in both women slapping each other. Amy said that she has often been slapped or she has to slap others due to filming. "But I would rather that I get slapped as it's less pressure."

Patricia's character suffered burns as a child due to contact with boiling water on her back. Patricia had scars pasted on her back for realistic results.

In the scene, Patricia had to pull up her shirt in front of Patrick Tam to show him her scars. Although a policewoman tried to stop Patricia, she will be revealing her bra strap. Patricia will also need to use her legs to seduce Patrick.

Patricia said that the scene is not considered too bold. "I'm only revealing my back this time. Revealing my bra is like wearing a bikini in my past slimming ads."

Patricia said she is looking forward to her scenes with Amy. "I have worked with Amy before and she's very nice. I'm will not be afraid of NG's."

In "No Turning Back," Patrick Tam's character's name is Chin Chi Kong, who pledged to become a lawyer in order to clear his father's [unjust] legal accusations. During this process, Patrick's methods become questionable and will he pay a serious price by leaving behind morality and righteousness?

Other cast members in "No Turning Back" include Ken Tsang Kong, Deannie Yip Tak Han, Law Ka Ying and Hawick Lau Hoi Wai. The blessing ceremony took place on June 18th.

Deanie Yip's Serious Work Attitude on the Set of “義無反顧” (Yee Mo Fan Ku)

Summary: Filming has just started after much delay because Deanie wanted the script rewritten several times to her satisfaction and to meet her high standards. This is Deanie's first series after a lapse of 7 years and she made a pact with ATV, allowing her to work only 12 hours a day. Taking a potshot at TVB, she said their work schedule of working day and night is inhuman and she had seen how Chow Yun Fat and Adam Cheng had to slog. Health is of utmost importance to her.

Patrick praised Deanie for maintaining her serious work attitude and said that she has set a few rules on the set. These rules were already enforced during the shooting of Flaming Brothers. At that time, Deannie caught him lighting up outside the set once and he had to foot the food bill for several tables. One production crew was fined HK$200 when his cellphone rang. According to Patrick, the fine should now be raised to HK$500 - HK$700!
