Maggie Cheung Mistaken to be Gong Li by Foreigners
Maggie Cheung, in the eyes of Hong Kong citizens, is an international superstar but this is unfortunately not the case in the eyes of foreigners. Maggie, who had earlier left Hong Kong to develop her career in Hollywood and Europe, won 2004’s ‘Best Female Award’ at the Festival De Cannes for her role in ‘Clean’. The accomplished actress was also the recipient of the ‘Chinese Movie Industry 100th Year Anniversary – Favourite Female Actress Award’ in 2005. Despite being in the spotlight right after her successive wins, she was later actually mistaken to be another famous Chinese actress.
Maggie Cheung attended the ‘Chloe 07 Winter/Autumn Collection Fashion Show’ in Paris on Saturday. The actress, who is well known for her good fashion sense, certainly did not let go of a chance to further develop her studies in the latest fashion trends. It is known that Maggie was invited to attend the show by ‘Chloe’ but when entering the event grounds, reporters did not notice her as she was standing in the corners. But when Maggies was seated and was spotted by the media, photographers swarmed in front of her to get photos. While being photographed, Maggie smiled nicely but refused to be interviewed.
Unfortunately, reporters had mistaken Maggie for Gong Li as show organisers did not disclose the attendance of Maggie! Photos of Maggie that were captioned Gong Li were later fixed.
Maggie will be attending a few more events in Paris. After attending the opening of a Qeelin chain store, she is suspected to attend the LV Women’s Autumn/Winter Collection Fashion Show.
On the other hand, Australian superstar, Kylie Minogue was also at the Chloe event with Maggie.
